Armie Hammer’s Mom Gives an Update About Son Amid Accusations

Dru Hammer, the mother of controversial Hollywood star Armie Hammer, spoke out about allegations made against her son during an interview with Fox News Digital this week.

Hammer’s interview comes after she released her memoir “Hammered,” in which she recalls her son’s early life and the series of events that led to the scandals that derailed his life. Dru, an avowed Christian woman, also used the interview as an opportunity to express her thanks that her son had found his way back to God.

Why Is Hammer So Controversial?

Armie Hammer, whose full name is Armand Douglas Hammer, is an American acter who first made his name on television but shot to fame with his 2010 appearance in the biographical David Fincher movie “The Social Network.” Since then, he appeared in 2017 hit “Call Me By Your Name” and 2018’s “On the Basis of Sex” – but in 2021, his life turned upside-down when he was accused of assault. The woman, named Effie, alleged at the time that Hammer forced himself on her in 2017. An investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department followed, but Hammer was never charged.

Hammer’s reputation was further damaged by the circulation of unverified messages, said to have been sent by Hammer, in which he allegedly discussed the depths of his darkest fantasies. Among them, an apparent desire to drink blood and engage in other disturbing activities.

What Dru Said

Defending her son, Dru described his many positive attributes and called him the “most fabulous son in the world.” She also offered a look at Dru’s early life and a tragedy that occurred at age 14 that she believes led him down a dark path.

Dru referenced a story told by her son already; namely, a claim that her son was abused by a youth pastor as a young teenager. The actor said that his abuse at a young age is what prompted him to take an interest in “BDSM” (bondage, domination, sadism and masochism).

Speaking to Fox, Hammer’s mother said that she wished she had done more at the time and that she had sought out marriage counseling at the time.

“And I pray to God that what I’ve learned now going back, I should have had my marriage in counseling because my former husband was also abused. And I’ve learned a lot, too. And I hope and pray that I can have a ministry to help others who have gone through the same thing,” she said.

What Armie Says

The interview comes after Armie Hammer himself addressed all the accusations made against him during an interview with British journalist Piers Morgan.

During the “Piers Morgan Uncensored” interview, Hammer addressed accusations by a former lover, Paige Lorenze, who said that she was involved in an abusive relationship with the star. Lorenze accused Hammer of having carved the letter “A” into her pelvis.

“There was a scenario that we talked about beforehand. I would basically take a little, tiny point and just kind of trace the letter ‘A’ — just the tip of a small knife,” Hammer said.
