Biden Gives Green Light To 100,000 Ukraine “Refugees”

(NewsGlobal.com)- On Thursday, President Joe Biden announced the beginning of a new program to bring more Ukrainians to the United States. It’s an endeavor that might result in 100,000 refugees coming to the country.

The new “Unite for Ukraine” plan has been billed as a safe and quick way to transport Ukrainians escaping violence straight to the United States rather than via the country’s southern border.

When he visited Europe last month, Biden said that the United States would accept 100,000 refugees, indicating that we should uphold our shared obligation to the world. As a result of these efforts, tens of thousands of Ukrainians will come to the United States. Biden announced the ‘Unite for Ukraine’ program, which will allow Ukrainians seeking asylum in other countries to travel directly to the United States from Europe.

The new program is intended to expand on existing avenues to ensure the safe movement of Ukrainians leaving the country.

According to Biden, this new humanitarian effort will supplement the current legal options available to Ukrainians and include immigrant visas and refugee procedures. It will give an expeditious avenue for Ukrainians who have a sponsor, such as a family or non-governmental organization, to obtain migration from Ukraine to the United States.

Additionally, Biden alluded to previously expressed reservations about his immigration policy, claiming that the Ukrainian resettlement effort would be more streamlined and efficient than current attempts.

He said this approach will be quick and simplified, and it will guarantee that the United States fulfills its pledge to Ukraine’s people without having to cross our southern border.

According to an article published by NBC News, the new proposal would require Ukrainians to have a sponsor in the United States.

NBC reported that an online site would be launched on April 25 to enable sponsors to submit papers as part of a procedure to guarantee that sponsors are not aiming to abuse the Ukrainians they take in.

The president’s words also confirmed his planned pledge of an extra $800 million in military security assistance for Ukraine’s defense against Russian aggression.

The declaration comes as a result of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s renewed appeal to leaders of Western nations to give their countries the weaponry they need to protect themselves against Russia’s military.

Zelensky made the statements during his nightly national TV presentation in Ukraine, aired nationwide. He said that it is unjust that he must continue to request weapons from other countries when they have been in storage for years.

Zelensky said it is unfair that Ukraine is still forced to ask for something that its partners have stored somewhere for years. It is a moral obligation, first and foremost, to assist in the protection of freedom if they have the weaponry that Ukraine needs. If they have the ammunition they require here, and now, that country can make a difference in the lives of thousands of Ukrainians.
