“I mean, this is extremely serious, and as much as it can seem like a sort of show or production when you’re watching it, these are… Congress has power, and people who are in the federal government have real power to enact consequences on federal funding,” Wu said.

Representative James Comer, Chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, has since blasted sanctuary cities like Boston for creating policies that “only create sanctuary for criminals.” His statement directly contradicts Wu’s claim that Boston’s policies make the city safer – and only one of them is right. Taxpayers Fund Wu’s Legal Defense

Boston taxpayers were forced to shoulder a $650,000 legal bill to prepare Wu for her congressional testimony defending the city’s sanctuary policies.
