Ben Andrews, the brother of track and field star Kim Andrews, said that his sister should have been kept in jail for her involvement in criminal activities instead of roaming free in the streets of California, where she terrorizes families with kids.
Ben accused the state of California of not arresting Kim, who is allegedly involved in threatening parents to kidnap their kids, alongside posing other notable threats to them.
Kim’s brother went on to say that his family cannot do anything about this matter and that the government has to rise to the occasion to bring effective laws against crimes.
Although law enforcement has arrested Kim multiple times in recent years, she manages to come out only to keep on threatening communities and taking advantage of California’s lenient crime laws.
Reportedly, Kim has been threatening kids in San Francisco’s posh areas like Cole Valley, Inner Sunset, and others, with some parents complaining that she threw garbage at them and chased their dogs.
In July, Kim allegedly walked to a mother carrying flammable lysol and a lighter and threatened to kill the woman who was walking with her 18-month-old child. Despite being arrested after the incident, she was not charged at that time. Earlier this year, Kim was also arrested and later released after running into an argument with a clothing store owner who accused her of trespassing. In 2024 alone, she has been arrested at least six times till now.
While speaking about Kim, Randolph Quezada, the Communications Director of San Francisco District Attorney, stated that even if police arrest a suspect, they need to properly investigate the incident to bring charges against them.
Kim is the daughter of an accomplished computer scientist, Dr. Philip Andrews, who had been involved in many national-level supercomputer projects before his death in 2011. However, in 2022, Kim said that she thinks her father never died.
Before embracing the violent path, Kim was a track and field athlete in a San Diego school and also participated at her former college, the University of California, where Dr. Philip was also leading the school’s supercomputer research department. She dropped out of college in 2015 and did not complete her cell biology and biochemistry degree.
San Francisco’s public attorney, who represents Kim, said that she is a kind-hearted woman who is suffering from homelessness and other crises and that she needs to be taken care of properly.
