Democrats Block Resolution To Investigate Hunter Biden

(NewsGlobal.com)- Last week, Democrats on the House Oversight Committee voted against a Republican resolution that would have ordered the Biden administration to turn over all documents related to the Biden family’s foreign business deals.

The “resolution of inquiry,” introduced by ranking Republican Congressman James Comer of Kentucky, would have ordered the administration to provide documents about the Biden family’s overseas business deals, including those involving Biden’s son Hunter and Biden’s brother James.

Congressman Comer accused the Biden family of influence peddling, selling “access to the highest levels of government to enrich themselves.” He said if Democrats vote against the resolution, “they are continuing in the coordinated effort to shield a compromised president” from congressional oversight.

Comer said the Oversight Committee has a duty to investigate the Biden family’s foreign business deals “to determine if there is a national security threat.”

But all 23 Democrats voted to kill the resolution after only two hours of debate.

Oversight Chair, Democrat Carolyn Maloney, called the resolution “nakedly partisan” and accused Republican committee members of being “obsessed” with Hunter Biden.

Wednesday, Republican Oversight Committee member, South Carolina Congresswoman Nancy Mace, appeared on Fox News to discuss the Democrats blocking the resolution.

Two weeks ago, the Washington Post reported that a GOP Oversight Committee aide said if Republicans retake the House in November, the GOP-led Oversight Committee would investigate the Biden family’s “suspicious business dealings” to “get answers for the American people.”
