It’s hard to know if anything that comes out of Amber Heard’s mouth is true, so take this story with a grain of salt.
At a glance:
- Elon Musk has been accused of using private investigators and surveillance tools to spy on his ex-partner Amber Heard and others, including British cave explorer Vernon Unsworth.
- Musk allegedly hired investigators to follow Heard with infrared cameras and drones, suspecting her of cheating during the filming of Aquaman in Australia.
- Unsworth, who helped rescue 12 children from a Thai cave in 2018, was also a target of Musk’s surveillance after he criticized Musk’s plan to assist with the rescue using a mini-submarine.
According to shocking reports, Elon Musk has been accused of employing private investigators to conduct surveillance on multiple individuals, including his former partner Amber Heard and British cave explorer Vernon Unsworth. According to a new podcast series titled Elon’s Spies, Musk allegedly went to great lengths to monitor those he believed had wronged him.
One of the most startling claims involves Amber Heard, whom Musk dated in 2017. According to sources, Musk became suspicious that Heard was cheating on him while she was filming Aquaman on the Gold Coast in Australia. Musk’s security team reportedly hired an Australian investigations firm specializing in infidelity cases, paying more than AUS$100,000 for weeks of surveillance. The firm allegedly used infrared cameras, drones, and operatives instructed to pose as paparazzi if caught.
During this time, a local Australian newspaper received an anonymous tip claiming a football player had been spending nights at Heard’s house. The tip was traced back to SpaceX, one of Musk’s companies. Musk later admitted that someone close to him had sent the tip but claimed it was done without his knowledge.
In addition to the allegations involving Heard, Musk also reportedly targeted Vernon Unsworth, the British cave explorer who helped rescue 12 boys and their coach from a cave in Thailand in 2018. Musk had publicly called Unsworth a “paedo guy” after the cave diver dismissed Musk’s plan to use a mini-submarine for the rescue. The insult led to a defamation lawsuit, which Unsworth ultimately lost.
However, it has now been revealed that Musk had hired private investigator James Howard Higgins to dig up damaging information on Unsworth. Higgins promised Musk he would go through Unsworth’s trash, hack his accounts, and even infiltrate his partner’s social media. Most of the information Higgins provided was false, and it later emerged that he was a fraudster who had been jailed for theft.
Musk has faced repeated allegations of using surveillance against critics and former employees. According to the investigation, Musk’s team also allegedly hacked the phone of a Tesla employee, Martin Tripp, who had been suspected of leaking information to the press. Tesla has denied any illegal activity, and Musk has so far declined to comment on the accusations raised in the investigation.
These allegations paint a troubling picture of Musk’s use of private investigators and surveillance, raising serious concerns about the lengths to which the billionaire may go to protect his reputation and interests.
IF it’s true, of course…
