Donald Trump Jr. Speaks Out After Father’s Attempted Assassination

The state of American politics is quite divisive and polarized. The 2024 presidential election is just a few short months away on the calendar, and America appears to be in the most tense time politically speaking since perhaps the American Civil War. The former 45th president of the United States, Donald Trump, is currently locked in a dead heat in most polls with the incumbent 46th president Joe Biden. Biden defeated Trump handily in 2020, and Democrats fared quite well in the 2022 midterms despite media allegations that a “red-wave” was imminent. Regardless, millions of people across the nation are gearing up for the upcoming contest. The election will likely be decided by a few crucial swing states like Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Nevada, Georgia, and others.

Following the first presidential debate which took place on June 27th, the former 45th president Donald Trump appeared to gain a little bit of momentum after Biden performed disastrously. Biden often appeared incoherent and incompetent, struggling to answer questions clearly and concisely and Trump emerged as the stronger candidate. Despite this, polls still show a very tight race. Biden, however, is now facing strong political headwinds within his party, and many are calling for him to step aside and for another candidate to be chosen to lead the Democratic party. It is likely that if Biden did eventually step aside, Kamala Harris would be the choice to become the party torchbearer as she is the Vice President currently speaking.

As politics continue to unfold in turmoil and tension, America remains closely divided. As divisions worsen, dangerous possibilities for political violence increase. In a harrowing incident on July 13th, former president Donald Trump was almost assassinated while holding a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Trump narrowly survived death, coming mere inches away from losing his life. The president’s son, Donald Trump Jr., claimed his father showed “true resolve” following the nearly unprecedented presidential campaign trail incident.
