Vera Wang is one of the most influential names in fashion. The legendary designer has been one of the leading figures in bridal gown wear since 1990, after pursuing a career in figure skating before getting her fashion start in companies like Ralph Lauren and Vogue. Recently, Wang has been trending on social media for her almost imperfect looks, at the shocking age of 74.
Vera Wang recently shared photos of herself on Instagram, posing on her poolside diving boards wearing nothing more than a white one-piece swimsuit, sunglasses, and diamond-covered sandals. In the post, Wang captioned the photos as her “SLIM AARONS moment”, a reference to a photographer known for his 1970s poolside photography, followed by wishing her fans a happy summer.
The astonishing beauty and health of the bridal gown designer, who is now in her mid-seventies, caught viewers’ attention the most. Wang appeared to look half her age, with fans eagerly commenting on her beauty and asking how the designer does it. Some fans commented asking Wang to teach them the ways of antiaging, while others claimed Wang was aging backward and had the “Benjamin Button” syndrome.
Wang publicly responded to the compliments, claiming she will not let her hair go grey as her long black hair helps keep her youthful looks. On a recent episode of the Wiser Than Me podcast with Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Wang admitted that her hair does not grow evenly, and if she did not continue to color it, she would look like a “bad skunk”. Wang has also been public about her health routine, revealing that she works out and can squat 100 pounds.
Wang continued to reveal her youth-keeping secrets, claiming she still eats fast food such as McDonald’s and Dunkin Donuts, sometimes every day for two weeks, before switching up her menu. Wang claims the true way of looking young is through work, sleep, cocktails, and not too much sun.
