Reporters Reveal Editorial Suppression
Former Politico reporters Tara Palmeri and Marc Caputo have come forward with allegations that the news outlet deliberately downplayed and suppressed stories related to Hunter Biden’s laptop during the 2020 presidential election campaign.
In other words: they just proved Trump right after years of Democrats gaslighting him.
The revelations, shared on Palmeri’s podcast “Somebody’s Gotta Win,” have reignited discussions about media bias and its potential influence on political narratives.
Caputo, who covered Joe Biden’s campaign for Politico, claims he was explicitly instructed not to report on the Hunter Biden laptop story. He criticized the outlet’s handling of the issue, particularly a headline suggesting the laptop was disinformation.

The former reporters highlighted several instances where they believe Politico made questionable editorial choices. Caputo mentioned a story about Hunter Biden’s work with Burisma Holdings that was allegedly suppressed during Joe Biden’s primary campaign. Palmeri also questioned the delay in publishing her report on U.S. Secret Service agents and Hunter Biden’s gun-purchase form, which later led to federal charges.
“Politico did that terrible, ill-fated headline: 51 intelligence agents, or former intelligence agents, say that the Hunter Biden laptop was disinformation, or bore the hallmarks of disinformation. Turns out that story was closer to disinformation because the Hunter Biden laptop appeared to be true,” Marc Caputo said.
Yikes!
In response to these allegations, a Politico representative defended the outlet’s coverage, emphasizing their commitment to thorough reporting on the Biden family’s business dealings.
Which is, of course, exactly what they would do if they didn’t want their reputation destroyed even among their most left-wing readers.
The outlet highlighted the work of journalist Ben Schreckinger, who published a book on the Bidens in 2021, as evidence of their fair approach.
“To Tara’s point, yes, our editors uphold rigorous standards, ensuring every story is thoroughly vetted and ‘buttoned up’ before publishing. This approach reflects our unwavering commitment to accuracy and accountability—principles that have guided us and will continue to do so,” a Politico representative said.
Unwavering commitment…right, OK, sure…
These people must think we’re stupid.
