Man Who Subpoenaed Project Veritas Is A Democrat Operative

(NewsGlobal.com)- Ashley Biden’s lawyer, who privately lobbied the US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York to subpoena journalists, has long ties to former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and one of his top aides. She also happens to be the daughter-in-law of the US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York.

The newly discovered ties between those seeking to silence news about President Joe Biden’s daughter’s diaries reflect a highly unethical weaponization of America’s legal systems against journalists.

The announcement comes in the wake of an FBI raid on Project Veritas and its creator, James O’Keefe’s home.

New information from the organization throws light on the actors involved in the approval of 19 secret subpoenas issued to the activist group, including their links to Democratic politics.

In October 2020, Veritas began emailing the Biden campaign and its family attorneys, requesting an interview with then-candidate Joe Biden regarding the journal, which Ashley Biden’s lawyers described as an “extortionate effort.”

As a result, leftist lawyer Roberta Kaplan, one of Ashley Biden’s advocates, stated, “This is absurd; we should send to SDNY.”

The United States District Court authorized the first of 19 subpoenas against Project Veritas for the Southern District of New York (SDNY) around three weeks later.
Kaplan, 56, appears to have ties to the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York since she worked as a lawyer for former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, advising him on how to discredit one of his claimed victims.

The New York Times reported that Melissa DeRosa had continued legal links to a former Cuomo staffer accused of directing that attempt.
DeRosa is also married to the son of Audrey Strauss, the former Acting United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, who was in charge of issuing subpoenas against Project Veritas.

The disclosure raises further questions about potential conflicts of interest in the Project Veritas prosecution.

While testifying before Members of Congress on the warrants and subpoenas issued for Project Veritas, O’Keefe said, “There’s clearly a disparate treatment at the Department of Justice.”

The left has an obvious history of weaponizing state agencies to punish their political adversaries. But when they target journalists, it turns us into a Banana Republic.
