Marjorie Taylor Greene Unveils Impeachment Articles

Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has introduced new impeachment articles against Merrick Garland, the U.S. Attorney General.

This comes just one day following an announcement she made that she’d be working to impeach two other Biden administration officials.

In the impeachment articles against Garland, Greene says the attorney general is “facilitating the weaponization and politicization of the United States justice system against the American people.”

She continued:

“Attorney General Garland has failed to uphold his oath and has instead overseen a denigration of the principles of our democratic republic by politicizing the Department of Justice, and utilizing the Federal Bureau of Investigation as a federal police force to punish or intimidate anyone who questions or opposes the current regime.”

In the articles of impeachment, Greene pointed out several examples to back up her claims that Garland has to be impeached. She accused the attorney general of refusing to go after rioters associated with Black Lives Matter and Antifa, “leftist extremists that harassed and threatened Supreme Court Justices,” and other allegations.

The Georgia representative also said she believed Garland was pursuing justice from a partisan background. She referred to the fact that the attorney general hasn’t moved forward with criminal charges against President Joe Biden’s family or his associates “for the crimes they have committed at the expense of the American people.”

In a statement released this week, Greene commented:

“Since Merrick Garland took over as Attorney General in March of 2021, he has completely weaponized the Department of ‘Injustice.’ The politicization of the DOJ has resulted in the persecution of the left’s political enemies, and a two-tiered justice system.”

She also referenced her belief that the DOJ was persecuting former President Donald Trump by committing “election interference.” As her statement read:

“The DOJ’s persecution of Joe Biden’s primary political adversary, Donald J. Trump, is anti-American. Raiding the former president’s home for legally declassifying documents is a transparent violation of justice. Persecuting a declared candidate for President of the United States is nothing short of election interference.”

Not long ago, Greene introduced impeachment articles against two other officials in the Biden administration – Matthew Graves, a U.S. Attorney, and Christopher Wray, the director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

On Tuesday, Greene released a statement that outlined her reasons for the impeachment articles against Wray that read:

“Under Wray’s wrath, the FBI has intimidated, harassed and entrapped American citizens that have been deemed enemies of the Biden regime. As such, Director Wray has turned the FBI into Joe Biden and Merrick Garland’s personal police force.”

Greene has touted this week as “impeachment week,” and the introduction of impeachment articles against these three officials speaks directly to that.

Even though Republicans hold a slim majority in the House, it might be unlikely that any three of these officials are actually impeached. Even if they were, it would be a moot point, considering Democrats hold a majority in the Senate, which would require a two-thirds vote to remove any impeached official from office.
