Trump Declares Biden’s Pardons Invalid Due to Autopen Use
President Donald Trump has officially declared Biden’s last-minute pardons null and void, citing concerns over the use of an autopen device. In a statement issued on Truth Social, President Trump said, “The ‘Pardons’ that Sleepy Joe Biden gave to the Unselect Committee of Political Thugs, and many others, are hereby declared VOID, VACANT, AND OF NO FURTHER FORCE OR EFFECT, because of the fact that they were done by Autopen.”
Trump’s declaration specifically targets the controversial pardons Biden issued on his final day in office, which included preemptive pardons for all nine members of the Jan. 6 Committee, Dr. Anthony Fauci, and General Mark Milley. The President has alleged that Biden, at 82 years old, likely had no knowledge of the pardons that were being issued in his name.

Legal Questions Mount as Officials Weigh In
Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey has joined Trump in questioning the legality of Biden’s pardons, suggesting they could be unconstitutional if autopen signatures were indeed used. Bailey has called for the Department of Justice to investigate whether Biden’s alleged cognitive decline allowed staff members to enact policies without his knowledge or consent.
Trump further fueled the controversy by stating, “He knew nothing about them, and the people that did may have committed a crime.”
If that’s true, Trump’s case is even stronger than it seems at face value.
The president has also accused the Jan. 6 Committee members of tampering with evidence, specifically claiming they deleted crucial documents related to investigations against him.

High-Profile Pardons Under Scrutiny
The pardons in question were granted to several high-profile individuals who have been overtly critical of Trump, including all members of the Jan. 6 Committee. Former President Biden granted these preemptive pardons to committee members including Rep. Bennie Thompson and former Rep. Liz Cheney, a move Trump described as “disgraceful.”
Other controversial pardons were issued to General Mark Milley, who previously called Trump a “wannabe dictator,” and Dr. Anthony Fauci, who faced Republican accusations of misleading Congress regarding COVID-19 origins. Trump has warned that these individuals could be “subject to investigation at the highest level” and claimed that “Many are guilty of MAJOR CRIMES!”
While legal experts have yet to determine if any court will act to void the pardons based on the autopen claims, Trump is in with a real shot of holding these individuals to account. We’ll have to wait and see how this pans out in the courts.
