(NewsGlobal.com)- In a court filing Tuesday night about the FBI’s investigation into documents at Mar-a-Lago, former President Donald Trump claimed that the documents in question were declassified in response to a picture of allegedly classified documents that government prosecutors had disclosed.
On Truth Social, Trump made a post. He remarked that it was terrible how the FBI flung documents around carelessly on the floor during the Mar-a-Lago raid (perhaps to make it look like he did it! ).
He said they then started snapping images of the supposedly classified materials” for the public to see.
“Lucky I Declassified!” he said.
The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) informed the Justice Department that some material Trump had sent to them in January 2022 contained “a lot of classified records,” and the FBI suspected there were more, leading to an August raid on Trump’s Florida home in search of classified documents.
In May 2022, Breitbart News quoted former Trump administration staffer Kash Patel saying that although the records given to NARA may have been designated as “secret,” Trump had previously declassified them.
In a subsequent interview with Breitbart News, Patel made it clear that he was speaking of records that had been provided to NARA in January and that he was unaware of the documents uncovered in the August raid on Mar-a-Lago.
The documents sent to NARA in January included information that Trump felt spoke to issues relating to everything from Russiagate to the Ukraine impeachment fiasco to significant national security matters of great public importance, according to Patel, who claimed in a May interview with Breitbart News.
“Anything the president felt the American people had a right to know is in there,” Patel said.
The same personnel involved in the discredited FBI probe into Russian connection are also involved in the current inquiry, Patel claimed in an interview with Breitbart News on Saturday.
He claimed that the documents won’t ever be made public because “the same people that were supposed to have committed Russiagate are now back in command.”
They are aware of this because they raided Trump’s home while claiming to be conducting a counterintelligence investigation.
They’re just worried that more of their corruption and illegal activity will be uncovered.
