Tucker Carlson immediately apologized for laughing at a Russell Brand joke about entering the United States. The former Fox host interviewed the controversial British commentator in Phoenix, Arizona, and Mr. Brand opened his remarks by stating that he found it easy to enter the US and simply walked across the border while trafficking a “few kids.” Both men laughed at the joke, but Carlson speedily told his audience, “I’m sorry. I’m sorry I laughed at that.”
The interview was part of Carlson’s cross-country tour, and he is immersed in criticism for some of his recent interviewee choices, including Darryl Cooper, who said the Nazis wanted peace but Britain wouldn’t agree to it.
Russell Brand, who recently announced his conversion to Christianity, attended the Republican National Convention in July and gained a large social media following by frequently questions government activity and conspiracies, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Last year, Brand vehemently denied rape and sexual abuse after several women went public and told UK journalists about his inappropriate and sometimes criminal behavior. One woman accused him of raping her at his Los Angeles home and produced medical evidence to reporters confirming she had received treatment for rape the same day. Other women made similar claims, and Brand got ahead of the accusations by releasing a video the day before publication saying he was the target of a conspiracy aimed at silencing his opinions.
During his interview with Carlson, Mr. Brand confirmed his support for the Republican Party and said he is excited by the recent decision by Robert F. Kennedy to join Donald Trump’s team. “After this election, you are going to be the inheritors of the new United States of America,” he said.
Fellow Trump supporter Tucker Carlson started his tour in Arizona to highlight the state’s importance in this year’s Presidential battle. GOP Vice Presidential candidate JD Vance was in the Grand Canyon State during the same week. Vice President Kamala Harris held a rally there in August, where she focused on immigration, and Tim Walz was scheduled to return there on the evening of the Harris-Trump debate in Philadelphia.
In the remainder of his tour, Tucker Carlson is scheduled to interview Robert F. Kennedy, Megyn Kelly, Dan Bongino, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Roseanne Barr, JD Vance, and others.
