Christine Baumgartner, the estranged wife of Kevin Costner, was spotted departing from LAX airport in Los Angeles on Thursday, accompanied by two of their three children, Grace and Hayes, amidst the ongoing divorce proceedings involving the famous duo.
Baumgartner and Costner are parents to three kids: Cayden, 16; Hayes, 14; and Grace, 13. (Costner has four additional adult children from his past relationships.)
Baumgartner is scheduled to appear in court in Santa Barbara the following Wednesday for a hearing regarding the prenuptial agreement tied to their divorce.
Accompanied by their backpacks and luggage, Baumgartner and her children were seen exiting a car and heading towards the terminal on a sunny day.
Costner has alleged that a portion of the $248,000 monthly child supports his estranged wife, Baumgartner, is asking for is intended to cover her costs for plastic surgery.
Baumgartner, who reportedly caught Costner, 68, off guard when she served him divorce papers, argued that the requested sum was ‘insufficient to sustain the children’s usual standard of living,’ according to a report by People Magazine earlier this month.
Newly acquired court documents by TMZ reveal that Costner’s forensic accountant claims that among the requested $248,000 are expenses amounting to over $100,000 for Baumgartner’s cosmetic surgery.
The requested sum includes several thousand spent on boutique shopping, large ATM withdrawals, and other costs which, according to Costner’s forensic accountant, ‘are not related to child support.’
Baumgartner’s listed expenditures encompass credit card bills, personal attorney fees, and construction loans. Costner’s accountant argues these are ‘singular expenses unrelated to child support.’
The documents assert that Costner has been shouldering all the children’s costs and plans to continue, stating that the current payment of $51,940 a month is reasonable.
Paperwork from earlier this month reveals that Costner earned just over $19.5 million in 2022, while the family’s expenses for the same year amounted to $6.6 million.
According to the report by People, the family’s net worth is estimated at $7.5 million.
