As Americans across the nation continue to sour on President Joe Biden and the progressive Democratic agenda in which he peddles, another public figure with a family link to an earlier time in Bidens political career has once again returned to the spotlight. Malik Obama, the older half-brother of the 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama, has pledged his support for Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election.
The elder Obama had previously supported Trump in the 2016 election but had not made any significant public statements regarding the upcoming 2024 election. In a post on the popular social media platform Twitter, Malik appeared to sport a red cap with the words “F-Biden” embroidered in white on its front. The hat was designed by a man named Gary Grinberg, supposedly a friend and colleague of Mr. Malik. He has since reiterated his statements, claiming to be a proud Republican, despite his brothers’ status as one of the most prominent Democratic politicians of the 21st century.
It should be noted that Malik’s relationship with his brother Barack was not always strained. Only three years of age separate the brothers, and Malik, at age 65, said he no longer gets along with his brother and feels as though the younger 62-year old is not the same person he once knew. Malik stated that the 44th president is a major disappointment to him, adding that he believes that following his ascent to the presidency, Barack became inundated and allured by the power and fame of the office, viewing himself now as a superhuman figure. Unfortunately for Malik, his support for Donald Trump has created tensions with other family members back in Kenya.
As the 2024 election nears closer, Trump maintains a huge lead over his only remaining challenger in the GOP primary, Nikki Haley. A recent poll suggests that the vast majority of voters that support Haley are actually Biden supporters.
