(NewsGlobal.com)- In an interview with the Rupert Murdoch–owned British television network TalkTV, Florida’s Gov. Ron DeSantis made his first public comments regarding Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and the royal family.
Piers Morgan, an outspoken opponent of Harry and Meghan, interviewed DeSantis for his talk program and inquired about the governor’s opinions on the royal marriage.
Morgan told DeSantis that he was fired from his position as a morning talk show anchor in 2021 because he didn’t buy Meghan’s complaints and accusations during her appearance with Oprah Winfrey, sparking a conversation about cancel culture.
Morgan then asked DeSantis what he thought of Harry and Meghan.
DeSantis said he didn’t think of them at all, but he respected the queen a great deal.
The governor agreed with Morgan that the pair could be “annoying” to some people.
According to a report, several astute social media users had tallied that Piers Morgan tweeted about Meghan over 60 times in March of 2021, despite his claims that he did not care about her.
This is more than an example of a reporter focusing on a single subject. Once Meghan told Piers she was an admirer of his on Twitter in 2016, he followed her. When Meghan traveled to the United Kingdom to see Serena Williams play at Wimbledon, she and her online pal decided to finally meet in person.
During an interview on The Late Late Show, Morgan recalled their encounter, saying they spent a few hours at a bar where they had beers and Dirty Martinis, and they got along well. He arranged for a taxi to take her to an event where she eventually met Prince Harry. He never heard from Markle again. Morgan said Meghan Markle ghosted him.
The report notes that from his point of view, it suggested that he took it personally when his “friend” suddenly lost interest. It surmised that when Morgan wasn’t receiving what he wanted from Markle, he changed his tune and started calling her a greedy, scheming, and narcissistic brat.
